Since the preliminary design stage of the South Island Line (East), the Corporation has been in close liaison with the community in order to obtain views and suggestions about the railway. Various adjustments have been made in the proposal to address the concerns of the pubic and further improve the design to meet the public's needs.
Noise enclosures will be erected at the section of viaduct adjacent to JCRC Block A
The viaduct will be moved further away from the JCRC, so that it is at least 18m from the JCRC.
The viaduct structure will be lowered so the top of the noise enclosure will be at about the ground level of the JCRC
The operatioon hours of the temporary barging point and the daily number of trucks to Telegraph Bay will be reduced
Trucks travelling to the barging point at Telegraph Bay will primarily take the route via Victoria Road and Sha Wan Drive, and will depart via Cyberport Road. Trucks will not pass by schools near Telegraph Bay
Road improvement measures will be implemented as necessary
Land resumption within the Holy Spirit Seminary will be reduced
The size of Lei Tung Station will be reduced in response to the comments of the local residents
The lift at the entrance of Marina Square (East Wing) will be relocated to better serve the community
The size of the ventilation facility will be reduced and its design modified to blend in with the environment
