Some public facilities will inevitably be affected by the railway construction works. In order to minimise the impact, we propose the following arrangements during the construction period:
(a) Construction of a public transport interchange (PTI) underneath the proposed Wong Chuk Hang Station including –
-
a double-width bus bay for accommodating eight buses, a green minibus (GMB) bay for for four GMBs, a taxi stand for six taxis, general 30m loading/unloading bay; and
associated road, drainage, street lighting, electrical and mechanical (E&M) and landscaping works;
(b) Improvement of the existing road network in the vicinity of the proposed Ocean Park Station and Wong Chuk Hang Station including –
widening of a section of Heung Yip Road from one lane each way to two lanes each way;
realignment of a section of Wong Chuk Hang Road and a section of Ocean Park Road;
realignment and widening of a section of Nam Long Shan Road and a section of Police School Road;
modification to the road junctions at Heung Yip Road/Ocean Park Road, Heung Yip Road/Police School Road, Heung Yip Road/Nam Long Shan Road, Wong Chuk Hang Road/Nam Long Shan Road, and Wong Chuk Hang Road/Tong Bing Lane; and
associated road, drainage, street lighting, geotechnical, slope works and landscape works;
(c) Modification of a section of existing Wong Chuk Hang nullah between Ocean Park Road and Nam Long Shan Road;
(d) Construction of a 180m covered footbridge connecting the Wong Chuk Hang Station with the adjacent industrial area, which also includes –
a staircase and a lift at Wong Chuk Hang Road adjacent to the Regency Centre;

a staircase and a lift at the existing Nam Long Shan Road Sitting-out area;
a staircase and a lift adjacent to the Nam Long Shan Road Cooked Food Market; and
-
re-provisioning of the Nam Long Shan Road Sitting-out area;
(a) Construction of an 80m covered footbridge crossing South Horizons Drive and linking the western part of Ap Lei Chau Estate to Yi Nam Road near the Precious Blood Primary School, which also includes –
a staircase and a lift adjacent to the Precious Blood Primary School;
-
re-provisioning of the existing Ap Lei Chau Estate Sitting-out area; and
associated road and drainage works;
(a) Construction of a pedestrian link to the Aberdeen Channel Promenade comprising –
-
a 36m-covered footbridge;
-
an 800m walkway between the Wong Chuk Hang Station and Kwun Hoi Path;
an open space of 1140m2 and a lookout point at the Aberdeen Channel waterfront; and
associated drainage and landscaping works; and
(a) Road improvement works at the road junction of Ap Lei Chau Drive and Ap Lei Chau Bridge Road.
Land Requirements

The underground strata of some portions of private lots will be resumed along the alignment of the South Island Line (East) for the tunnelling works, but the building structures above will not be affected.
